By using soundsystemcalc.com (the "Site"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. "We", "us" and "SoundSystemCalc" refer to the operator of the Site.

What the Site is

SoundSystemCalc provides free calculators and written guides about microphones, amplifiers and speakers. The Site is for general information and planning. It is not a substitute for the manufacturer's documentation, a qualified installer or professional engineering advice.

Results are estimates

The calculators use standard formulas and typical assumptions, such as free-field behaviour, nominal impedance and identical speakers. Real rooms, cables, speakers, amplifiers and microphones vary, and manufacturers' ratings are not always measured the same way. Treat every result as a starting point and check it against the specifications of your own equipment.

Mistakes in audio systems can damage equipment or, at high volumes, hearing. Before connecting or powering anything, confirm your amplifier's minimum stable impedance, your speakers' power handling and your wiring against the manufacturers' instructions. If you are unsure, ask a qualified person.

Product suggestions and links

Recommendations are general suggestions, not guarantees that a product will suit you, work with your equipment or stay available at a given price. Prices and specifications change, so verify details with the seller before you buy. We are not a party to any purchase you make from a third-party retailer, and we are not responsible for their products, prices, delivery, returns or policies. Their own terms and privacy policies apply once you leave the Site.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Site for anything unlawful, or in a way that could damage, overload or disrupt it;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site or its systems;
• scrape or copy the Site's content or calculators in bulk, or republish them as your own, without our permission;
• use automated means to place a load on the Site that goes beyond normal browsing.

Ordinary linking to our pages, and brief quotation with a link back to the source, are welcome.

The Site's text, guides, design, code and logos are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may use the Site and its tools for your own personal or professional work. You may not copy, resell or redistribute the content except as allowed above or by law. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version, and continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
