Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data SoundSystemCalc collects, why, and what your choices are. The short version: we collect almost nothing.

Summary

• No accounts. You can use every calculator and read every guide without signing up.
• No cookies. This website sets no cookies. It uses privacy-focused, cookieless page-view statistics, and no advertising or social media scripts.
• Your inputs stay with you. Calculators run in your browser. What you enter is not sent to us or to anyone else.
• We never sell personal data.

What this policy covers

• The website at soundsystemcalc.com.
• Our Android apps and browser extensions (Chrome and Firefox), described in the section on apps and extensions below.

The website

Calculators

The Microphone Finder and Amplifier Calculator work entirely in your browser. The values you enter, the results you see and anything you export or print are processed on your device. They are not transmitted to our servers or stored by us.

Server logs

Like any website, the service that hosts ours (Vercel Inc.) automatically processes technical request data, such as your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser type. This is needed to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. We do not use this data to identify or profile individual visitors, and its retention is governed by the host's own policies.

Anonymous page-view statistics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages are visited, which sites send visitors, and roughly what countries and devices they use, so we know which tools and guides to improve. It sets no cookies. Visitors are not identified by a persistent ID: according to Vercel, each visit is counted using a temporary hash made from the request, which cannot be used to follow someone across different days or different websites. We do not combine these statistics with any other data, and we cannot use them to identify you. Vercel Inc. processes this data on our behalf.

Emails you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply and to improve the site, and we keep it only as long as needed for that.

Cookies and similar technologies

We do not set cookies and we do not use local storage or fingerprinting on this website, and our page-view statistics work without any of them. Because of that, there is no cookie banner to dismiss. If this ever changes, for example if we add advertising, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it before anything is set.

Links to other websites

Our tools and guides link to retailers and other websites, for example Amazon, Thomann and AliExpress. Once you follow a link you are on that site, and its own privacy policy and cookies apply. We do not receive personal information about what you browse or buy there, and we are not responsible for how other sites handle your data.

Our apps and browser extensions

This section covers our Android apps and our Chrome and Firefox extensions, including the Microphone Selector Calculator and the Power Amplifier Calculator.

Browser extensions (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and Firefox)

• No personal data is collected. Calculations and inputs are processed locally on your device.
• Extensions do not send user data to our servers or to third parties.
• Preferences and saved calculations use the browser's own extension storage and never leave your browser.
• We do not read your browsing history, page content, keystrokes or form data, and we do not use remote code.
• Permissions are limited to what is needed: local storage for your preferences, and the active tab only where the interface needs it.

Android apps

• No personal or sensitive data is collected or shared, which matches the Data safety section of our Google Play listings.
• Inputs and saved results stay in the app's private storage on your device.
• The apps contain no advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics SDKs, and they do not request the advertising ID, location, contacts, camera, microphone, SMS or file access.
• The internet permission is used only when you tap an outbound link. No calculation data is sent.
• If Android backup is on, your device may include app preferences in your own Google account backup. You and Google control that backup, not us.
• Google Play may show us aggregate, anonymous install and crash figures. They do not identify you.

Uninstalling an app or extension removes everything it stored on your device. On Android you can also clear it under Settings, Apps, the app, Storage, Clear data.

Why we process data and for how long

The only personal data we handle is what appears in server logs and in emails you send us, plus the request details that feed our anonymous page-view statistics. We handle server logs because it is in our legitimate interest to deliver and secure the site. We handle emails to respond to you. Emails are kept only as long as needed to answer you, and no longer than 24 months. We do not transfer personal data ourselves; the host may process logs in countries other than yours under its own safeguards.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California law), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent. We do not sell or share personal data, so there is nothing to opt out of. To exercise a right, email us at electronicszone54@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because the calculators do not send your inputs anywhere, there is no calculator data on our side to protect. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
